Our Purpose
We bring teachers, parents and children together
InSync Education is an ambitious attempt to join parents and teachers in a collaboration to support the academic success of our children. We believe there is no work greater, and no stakes higher, than the preparation of the next generation.
Current state of parental involvement
“Parent Involvement” is a common phrase in public education, and can mean many different things. Often, it means a program or resources that a school offers to help parents become more connected to their local school: parenting pamphlets and flyers, surveys, volunteer training programs, special evenings at the school, maybe even adult-ed classes.
Academics are the key
For decades, schools have tried to “engage” parents by giving them information about every other aspect of their children’s school life: lunch schedules, vaccinations, report card release dates, school plays, extracurriculars, discipline reports, bus routes, fundraisers, and on and on it goes. Schools communicate the required regulatory information in spectacular fashion, but they have left largely untouched the critical information about how parents can help their children learn and master particular academic skills and subjects.
21st Century Solution
InSync Education is a 21st century web-based service that can instantly modernize a school district’s parent involvement program and reach hundreds, even thousands of parents who would otherwise never step across a school threshold. And because we focus on ways for parents to assist the academic achievement of their children, we help many of the Title-based programs at schools remain compliant and demonstrate success.
InSync Education does not replace existing parent involvement programs, but it does enhance, extend and deepen those programs for districts who seek to truly connect with their community around the academic success of every child.
Finally! Help for parents
What InSync Education has to offer you
.
Get the Skinny
We all know how to do the basics, but we’ve forgotten the steps and vocabulary (remember “cross-multiply and divide” or “ROYGBIV”?). ISE offers you a common-sense, parent-centric explanation and reintroduction to key academic concepts your child must know to be successful in later grades.
Respect the culture
InSync Education is provided in your home language and in your preferred format: English, Spanish or Haitian Creole, audio, web or print, viewable now or saved to “favorites” for later.
Jump Ahead
Enrichment activities for children who are ready for more than they receive in classes.
Guard the Guardians
It’s your right and your responsibility to know what your child should be learning, and what he or she really is learning. ISE gives you that peace of mind, and gives you the foundation for meaningful communication with your child’s teachers.
Do you remember what it was like going to school?
While we're sure most of us as adults now would like to revisit some period of our schooling, there are certainly others that we do not wish to revisit. School can be hard, it can be confusing, and it can be downright scary at times. But if your child knows you care, and that you are willing to engage in the learning process with them, it can enbolden even the most timid student. And all you need to do to get “involved” is to get engaged in learning with them. Show them that you are willing to roll up your sleeves and wrinkle your brain just like them by logging in to InSync Education! Get started now.
InSync Education for Schools
Add instructional minutes to the school day
Someone needs to give school administrators, building-level leaders and teachers a big, thunderous round of applause for putting up with the work, re-work, over-work and outright scorn that has been heaped on them all since No Child Left Behind went into effect. Despite that burden, school leaders are challenged every single day to find a way to make a welcoming learning environment for our children, and to teach them in more diverse and unique ways to master ever-increasing standards of learning. This “virtuous cycle” of continuous improvement isn’t likely to stop any time soon.
If only there were more days in the year, more hours in the day. If only we could get more qualified teachers to engage our students one-on-one. If only we could keep children connected to learning long enough to teach them the joy and value of lifelong learning.
